Joying Head Unit
Alvin. I'm pretty sure you have a joying android headhunt. I picked up the single din w/ 8.8" screen and its powering up but no sound. I want to see what you did to trigger the amp to turn on. Did you just splice it from the ACC line?
Also what are you using for steering wheel controls.
Thanks!
Kevin

Re: Joying Head Unit
I have the Joying unit in a different car than my Abarth. In the Abarth I have a different double-din Android.
For steering wheel controls, the best bet is with the Metra kit, however I've discovered that most Android units just won't work with the steering wheel controls even with the Metra kit. I've had 3 different ones. One worked somewhat, but the other two didn't seem to work at all.

Re: Joying Head Unit
It's a full Android OS on the head unit with apps, etc. The only integration with a phone would be with the phone as an internet hotspot it Bluetooth audio source. Personally, I keep a dedicated hotspot in my car so that the head unit is always connected. I play music via the head unit either from microsd or streaming via internet.

Like Alvin said it full Android. But there is an app called Zlink and it will allow you to do apple car play and android auto. It works pretty well so far. Just happy with the last iOS update that now you can use Google Maps in CarPlay.

i have heard that the google play store has an app that allows you to read the oem oil temperature sensor. the app is called “Torque + Advanced EX for FIAT Plugin you can get VVT Oil Temp“ i have the norcal ss obd-II guage but it does not read that sensor. can someone confirm this before i start tapping in extra gauges.

Re: Joying Head Unit
Torque pro is pretty great. You need to get a wireless OBDII reader so that your phone/tablet can get the readings. VVT oil temp is one of the options with the Advanced EX for FIAT plugin, but I haven't yet confirmed that it will read the sensor on my car. I can check for you tomorrow and report back, unless someone beats me to it.operamatt wrote: ↑Sun Sep 30, 2018 9:41 pm i have heard that the google play store has an app that allows you to read the oem oil temperature sensor. the app is called “Torque + Advanced EX for FIAT Plugin you can get VVT Oil Temp“ i have the norcal ss obd-II guage but it does not read that sensor. can someone confirm this before i start tapping in extra gauges.
