For right now this is temporarily called "Project Stupid" because I'm stupid for even doing it...

Picked up the car yesterday. Not much in the way of photos because it was a very long day. Dropped the car off at a relative's house for the moment.

SHES A RUNNER... always good news, engine starts and runs. However it had sat for a few months, so did take some generous crankage to get the multiair moving again.

It won't be a profit maker, really, but it will still be a 'nice price' when I'm done. I'll probably keep it at least for a while.

Here's the assessment:
BUMPER - Replace or Drift Stitch?
BUMPER CRASH BAR - Replace
HATCH - Replace
DIFFUSER - Scratched but usable
WHEELS - The steelies are not in good shape and tires are trash. Need new.
TAIL LAMPS - Were not found in the car, so have to buy a set.

UNIBODY DAMAGE - Very minimal. Lower lip of hatch opening is "flexed" in a bit, but only a TINY bit. Can easily be massaged into place with a tow rope and come-along tied to a tree. Hinge at the top of the hatch appears tweaked and might need a massage to go back into place.

PAINT - Chances are I won't find a bumper or hatch in Granito Lucente. So the options are to have those parts professionally painted ($$$$ but how much???), to try to paint them myself with spray touchup (and have them look like crap) or just do some kind of vinyl wrap (carbon wrapped hatch anyone)...

Paint is really the only unknown at this point how I will tackle. Being a metallic clear I'm sure it won't be able to be done cheaply.... but we'll see.

Car-parts.com is your friend. There is a black pop (hear me out) in Waco. Get the rear hatch, bumper and support. If you stick with a single exhaust, you will be fine since it’s a sport turbo. I will be selling my black rear lights (not yet) when I replace with Gen 4 lights so there’s that. Or you can take the rear tails from that same car: Put a wing or order a spoiler off of eBay. Get it painted and you are good.

Project Estupido Update

My Salvage 500T automatic update.

Got wheels from Julio Monterroso, he threw in the new tires that were on them. My nephews David Jones and Maginnis Jones put on the wheels for me, they're helping with this project. Body shop had swiped the correct wheels and left it with a trashed set of steelies. so that was required.

New tail lights have arrived, though I won't be installing those until after a hatch. Working on locating a hatch through car-part.com. Bumper, not so lucky, nobody seems to sell used ones that aren't trashed. Good news is the 500T diffuser isn't destroyed. So I'll probably have to buy a new bumper from Fiat unless someone has one they're willing to sell me for less. I would like to stay with a Turbo/Abarth bumper and not downgrade it to a Pop/Sport bumper... but for cheap enough I'd consider it

Test drove it on some back roads, and it seems to drive fine. No oddness or any problems detected. Though it DEFINITELY needs a tune. 135hp ain't gonna cut it when my other car is the MAD FIAT.
