Re: Front Mount Intercoolers (FMIC)
That one is sold out of the UK so I don't know too much about it. Looking at the pictures it seems to have a decent core, but uses a combo of silicone and aluminum piping so still has a lot of joints (or potential leak points). Lots of nice decorative options though.JustPeachySav wrote: ↑Mon Oct 08, 2018 3:20 pm Has anyone run the Airtech FMIC? I can't find any reviews on it.

Re: Front Mount Intercoolers (FMIC)
I think that's a function of timing as much of anything. The EC intercooler is relatively new. For the cars that were built 2013, 2014, 2015 the ATM was the best (most expensive) option.
It would be nice to put two cars side by side to see if there is a measurable difference under load, but configs vary so much that it going to be tough.

If the EC FMIC is so great why did you develop your own?

Less expensive option, of course. Competitive marketplace and all.
(Hope NGEN didn't mind me offering an answer to the Q)

Re: Front Mount Intercoolers (FMIC)
We were approached by CHQ before the EC came out to offer a sub $500 FMIC for those who were wanting modest upgrades but were not looking to go phase 2 type power. The original FMIC did not replace the charge piping going to the turbo (similar to the Forge). After awhile, some were pushing to phase 2 levels with this FMIC but were starting to get a boost leak (from the same charge pipe that was not replaced). We got with CHQ about offering an upgrade kit for those who already had this kit so we could eliminate that weak spot. Because we helped development with this upgrade and we have been the exclusive provider, we decided to put our name on it. That’s why it’s called V2. It’s a great FMIC that can now handle phase 2 power levels. However, if you are upgrading the turbo and going to phase 3, you want maximum cooling and efficiency which would be the EC or ATM.
Hope this helps explain things.

Re: Front Mount Intercoolers (FMIC)
Thanks for catching me up on the history. Do you have logs your FMIC in action? I’m curious how well it cools vs my experience with the EC.
