Those are the same steps that I would take, & in that order.
I will ask the question.

Reviving this instead of starting a new thread; with data logging in MES, if there a way to enable viewing actual Lambda 1 equivalence (AFR)? The parameters are only showing status, voltage, and integrator values.. Maybe I'm not seeing something I should be.

I havent actually seen an AFR in MES. Hopefully that will be a future improvement for MES.
I use Maestro to monitor mine, because it is needed information.

That's weird if it's not in MES. It seems to be in Torque and DashCommand.

thanks for the feedback- yep, I monitor mine through the headunit aswell- I've been playing around with software dynos, and AFR is important information to plot. I believe VCDS will be able to pick generic PIDs- if not I'll give dash command a shot

on another note, I've also been working on mapping the custom proxi; in hopes that I can figure out how to enable a few things I'm missing with the dash update.
If anyone is able to, I'd appreciate if you could show me your current proxi (in MES "Body"> Proxy aliginment>Adjustments>ctrl+alt+c hex editor) , along with a description of your car.. If anything useful comes of it, I'd be happy to share what I find/test.
I'm specifically looking for a 2015+north american abarth at the moment

Hi, can you send this list again with more resolution?

Low resolution was deliberate, I don’t want to release definitions that can potentially brick some modules on vehicle without testing. If you want to share your proxi along with car specs; I can add to the definitions and show you what I’ve defined to date.

This is what I've mapped so far, I need to make some time to test a couple more things after not having touched it in a couple months. The potential here being able to swap modules such as the BCM without having to go to the dealership, enabling modules the car wasn't initially outfitted with etc..
