I know Texanbrit will like this one. 1962 Jaguar MkII. Fastest 4 door car made in it's day and first car with 4-wheel disc brakes. Has the hemi head double overhead cam 6 cylinder 3.8 . It will take a while to get it sorted out from being in storage for the last 20 years

Wait that's YOURs now? Good luck lol. That's the definitive Jag that's not an E-Type.
Btw welcome back, the forum is still alive for now

I went to look at buying a 1982 Range Rover two door convertible from a friend. He had to sell off some of his collection because the building he was renting was sold. The Jaguar was another one he was selling also. The more I looked at it and the more I researched it made me forget about the Range Rover. I haven't owned a car with SU side drafts in 50 years. A polished-out Jag six engine is a work of art itself. I'm ordering parts and polishing out the carburetors for now. I just hope the Lord of Darkness doesn't know this car.

Looks like a beauty! SUs can be a nightmare, do people do Webber conversions on Jags like they do on most British platforms?

I don't know if people are converting them anymore or not. I don't plan to unless I can't get it running well. The biggest drawback to the SU's to me is having the starting carburetor in place of a choke. I've heard that the starting carburetor caused many fires on these old cars. I did the Webber conversion on my Series 3 Rover because it had a mismatched Holley on it when I bought it .

Update on the herd I have. The Spitefire was traded for guns and I for now have a '91 Taurus SHO. I don't plan on keeping it but, who knows. It's a peppy little ride.

The SHOs are fairly underrated. Certainly a good workhorse car.
