Been trying to find a way to do decent looking carbon door cards in the fiat for some time now. I found these and am wondering how much work would be involved in having them look decent. It will obviously take some work.... but how much i wonder.

Wow it even changes rhd to lhd. 😅

Seriously though... Since this is a flat sheet of carbon I would expect they could make this much more cheaply than molded pieces since it would just be cut and trim on "stock" right?

you’re definitely right. having a flat piece of carbon is much cheaper than a specific molded piece. before i discovered this pre-cut piece for sale i was looking for a big sheet of flat carbon and trim it and maybe EZ-Lip for trim at the top and a speaker hole.

coulple different examples below.

Back in my Bicycling days, I knew dudes that would do there own Carbon Layups forging rear triangles, bars, etc. Never did it myself, but looked pretty manageable painting resin on Graphite Fiber over a temporary parting wax coated metal core, somewhat similar Plaster bust. It did look messy though

For weight savings, I've heard of many forging their own Int&Ext carbon parts not available in the open market such as Battery Skid plates, brackets, window cranks, latches since it is up to 10 times stronger than steel, over 7 times stronger than Almn, as well as 5 an 2 times stiffer respectively. One could shed a hell of a lot of weight relatively cheap if they get proficient at Carbon Fiber Lay-up

I dig this - it simplifies and beautifies the interior in my opinion - I wonder if one could do it in a Fiber glass option and overlay with some suede for that alcantera feel

i talked to lorenzo at speedmotive about this today and he said he is working on something. I would love to help get something like this to market.

I suppose one could get Biposto Door Cards from Europe then go to a Carbon Fiber Fabricator and tell them you want an exact CF replicas of the cards.

Supposedly the Biposto Door cards are cheap, under a $100, since theyre made of some thick cardboard type material, kinda like Pegboard without the holes.

But how about those Biposto Racing windows
