Tork Dyno Today (Stage 1)

The day has finally arrived. My appointment for the dyno is today after work and you know what? I don't want to be at work at all, I've got 12L of race gas in the trunk and I'm twiddling my thumbs until the timer runs out and I head to the dyno shop.

I used to have EC's Phase 1, then Phase 2 but have now moved to a Tork flash tune and I'm thoroughly enjoying the car. The plan is as follows; drive to the dyno with the hood seal removed (Hopefully it isn't raining out), do one run while logging the usual AFR/timing/boost with Auterra and the second run will be logging with multiecuscan to look at spark knock retard/voltage. After the second run, I'll fill up the tank with the race gas which should push me into the 94-96 octane area with a bit of oxygenation after which we'll drive the car on the dyno for a bit to run/mix the gas up a bit better. On the 3rd run I'll log spark knock/voltage with multiecuscan again....let the car cool and I'll ask the dyno dude to test one other thing.

I'll test the v4.1 intake detached from the front snorkel since the cross sectional area of the snorkel *may* be inhibiting flow into the larger 2.75" ID of the v4.1

My mods are:
  • EC FMIC
  • EC v4.1
  • Forge BOV
  • Turbosmart WGA
  • Alfa 4c Coils w/NGKs gapped to 0.024"
  • ATP 200 cell cat downpipe
The p1 vs p2 dyno runs are attached. P2 was flashed on the dyno so maybe it isn't representative of what P2 can really do but it definitely was running 26psi on the dyno.

Taking bets right now on what I'll put down.

That's exciting.

I thought for a minute that you were running EC tunes on the Tork Dyno, that would have been fun 😄

No idea what you will be putting down but I'll take a random guess at 205whp.

texanbrit, Tork is way too far from me. He's in Washington and I'm in Ottawa but that'd be good road trip, driving across Canada and the US.

The dyno is a 2WD dynomite w/ 24" rollers if I remember correctly. It isn't a hub Dynomite either.

How are you measuring boost? Via OBD, via the dyno, or via a gauge? My car never goes over 22.6xx (calculated) in DashCommand.

Well....I was *supposed* to measure boost with OBD2 (auterra and multiecuscan) but Windows 10 broke that all.... I'm definitely pissed off at that and will be battling it later.

As for bewsty related things, I took a few videos of my boost gauge (defi from EC) and made sure to include RPM so I can plot RPM vs Boost (psi). Once I get the dyno graphs I'll post up the results but there are some interesting experiments that we had and were surprised at the differences we found.
