Hey people,

Glad to be a part of this new forum. I'm Max, and I've owned my 2013 500c Abarth for a little over a year now. Many of you may know me from several of the SoCal Abarth Club events I've participated in, like Fiats on the Snake and the Abarth Challenge track day over the Summer.

My car was the notorious broken convertible that many of you helped me get sorted last Fall, when FCA initially refused to cover the repair. Fiat eventually caved and covered the repair thanks to the community here, and I've been modding and enjoying my car ever since.

My car is almost "finished" if there really is such a thing (with the exception of a few cosmetic mods like tint, as well as sorting an occasional P1CEA CEL), and I'm having a great time driving the shit out of it.

Looking forward to contributing to the new community 8-)

Yeah I remember that ..... one of the reasons I'm so glad I didn't get a Cabrio even though I saw some really good deals on them back when.

Glad it got sorted for you.

Cabrios were a premium option when I got mine, but have never regretted it (yet).

Glad to have you here

Thanks, guys. The cabrio is really fun, but I wouldn't recommend getting one that's out of warranty. For the record, Fiat wants about $7,000 to replace a top because a single plastic bracket can fail. The best thing we can do is keep the rails lubricated regularly, but I expect to see a LOT of top failures in the coming years. Not likely these cars will be around in the long run unless someone comes up with a solution.

Speaking of, what Lubricant are you using? I was going to use Wolf's Head Red Grease cause that is what I use in DA Polishers, but probably should use Mopar OEM so as not to piss off the FCA gods if the unthinkable happens.

I'm getting my top serviced next week (the new headliner is starting to peel loose :x :x :x yes, seriously) and haven't lubricated it myself yet, but I've heard lithium white lightning grease is the way to go. Somebody please correct me if you know any differently.

Thank you. I'll check it out. When you get your top serviced, try to sneak a Video of the service . . LOL. And see what grease they use.

Thank again

Hah I would, but it's one of those "drop the car off and hope I see it before the sun goes down" type situations. I'm not a fan of the new service situation. I had to make an appointment 2 weeks in advance just to get the damn car looked at.

On your recommendation, today I picked up some White Lithium Grease at AutoZone. It was in a WD40 Style Aerosol can with the little straw thingy.

I figure it'll give me a good spread down the rails and saturate the hingy bits . . . . Sorry, just realized this sounds like a Amazon review for adult intimate supplies.
