How To Fully Discard AC Compressor on 500 Abarth

Post by FxEpic » Fri Jun 14, 2024 7:53 am

Hi, has anyone discarded the AC system on the 500 Abarth? I am investigating the possibility. The challenge seems to be how the snake belt will be routed after the compressor is removed. I am sure that full race setups don't still have the AC installed so there must be a way. Do I have to make some kind of pully/idler to replace the pully that was the AC pully/clutch? I would appreciate any help.

Bob Zecca has a setup with a modified accessory bracket and BigDaddySRT on the fiat500usaforum runs that way on his track car. Too hot in Texas for that kind of weight savings; I'd switch to salads first :)
