Heat Managment - Oil Pan

Post by mr16valve » Mon Feb 18, 2019 6:48 am

I have done a lot in terms of keeping the under hood temperature in check:
Turbo blanket
Ceramic coated downpipe
Downpipe jacket
DEI gold reflective tape on the intercooler pipes (where they intersect radiator hoses & exhaust)

How have I missed this one for so long?

We are heating the oil just with the close proximity of the exhaust to the oil pan.
I understand that there is airflow (when moving), but this goes against what I have been trying to do.
Has anyone else caught this?
Discuss....

Here is my solution.

Cool Idea.

The Prometeo 6Qt expanded Oil Pan and shielding the exhaust would be a good combination to keep Oil Temps down.

We have installed several of these and just completed filming the last install. We should have a video in a couple weeks on this.
