Few updates.

New intake - Injen. Changed plugs to ones with smaller gap. Old plugs look like they probably haven't done the whole 36k that's on the car. Looked nearly new but with some heat coloring.

Annnnnnd it crashed and burned. Corrupt flash tune attempt. Panic call to Chris, who picked up the phone before it even rang (seriously!) ... He told me what to do, I did it. Fired email off to Toby who reset the handheld, was ready to go again within the hour but then I fell asleep ... (d'oh) .. so this morning first thing I made a second attempt, and it flashed with no errors. Put on Phase 1.

Took it for a spin and had some hesitation up top. Pulled off the 36k mile coils and slapped on a 18k mile set I had laying around off of Mad Fiat. Runs much smoother, but not perfect. I probably need to get 4C coils for it :/ ... And do a boost leak test.

And I can confirm, the trans programming does feel different than the Abarth automatic even after having the engine put out more power. You're not guaranteed a pop on every full throttle shift like the Abarth auto, and it's a little less aggressive on shifts. But more than enough I suppose.

Okay, so Estupido is tuned on Phase 1.

Non-Sport (695) seems to work well, and Sport (Phase 1) mostly works well. However it cut out with a very hard stumble sometimes at WOT on Phase 1. Happens at different RPMs. Can't seem to get a solid pull due to it.

Have swapped plugs, first to a lightly used extra set (gapped .024) and then to a brand new set just to be sure.

PCV valve seemed a little bit leaky, though not bad. Swapped it anyway, and cleaned the factory AOS pretty liberally.

Swapped coils for a set that had previously been known to be working well (but still Beru)...

Misfire still remains. Sooo... it's either coils or a possible boost leak I guess? Hate having to buy coils for a phase 1 tune... And my boost leak tester is a piece of shit (it likes to come apart)...

Either way it looks like I'll have to spend money, either on coils or on an FMIC for the poor 500T. Didn't really want to spend so much, which is why I went with Phase 1 instead of Phase 2, but it looks like it's decided to be bitchy no matter what....

Any bets on which direction will fix it?

Not sure what you mean by a stumble. Do you just lose boost or is it misfiring and then picking up again?

Misfire and pick back up usually. It's a hard misfire that jerks the car and pops sometimes. Then it picks back up. If I stay in the throttle it sometimes does it a second or third time. Sometimes it doesn't do it at all. And other times there's just a hesitation.

Flashed down to Phase 0 .... None of the HARD "FUCK YOU" MISFIRE jerks that it was getting on Phase 1... power output? About the same. Just for kicks I had also flashed it to Phase 2 - which it was extremely unhappy with. Power on Phase 0 is about the same as it had on both Phase 1 and Phase 2 ... the car basically rejected both Phase 1 and 2. .... Still feel a slight dip around 5200-5500 or so but it's definitely not a "fuck you misfire" like it is on the higher tunes.

Definitely gotta figure out why it's rejecting any more than Phase 0.... trying to figure it out without spending needless money on tons of "maybe" parts. I have a few spares to work with, but .... this is incredibly annoying. If this was my first Fiat to tune, I'd blame the tune TBH. But I'm pretty sure there's something not right somewhere, just haven't figured it out yet.

This is completely off topic, but I saw a PT yesterday that was fully built and it reminded me of you lol.
I didn't catch the guys social medias, but its a black PT that was audibly cammed from idle, he had a massive turbo and some fat slicks up front! He parked with a built neon as well..I honestly thought it was the coolest car at cars and coffee!

Would you recommend the Injen intake for a car running stock tune? I have the NACA vent that feeds into it.

Definitely would recommend. The quality is top notch. The mounts are rubber isolated so they don't crack like the RRM intake. The filter element is positioned well so it doesn't rub on anything and is higher quality than what I've seen on the others. It also re-uses the stock elbow at the turbo (which is fine for a stock or mild tune) so it doesn't rub on the airbag sensor like many others do.

The only thing is if you have a 2015+, they moved the O2 sensor up slightly, so you have to bend or cut the edge of the scoop to not hit the O2 sensor. Also you'll need a bit of hose to re-route the intake hoses a bit differently.
