TFT Cluster

This is what I have been up to this weekend - call it Dragon prep.
Early 2013 Abarth running an early 2015 Abarth cluster.
I do like the look of it - it does away with the early 80's dot matrix font & modernizes the interior to this millennium.

I hooked up a test rig that I could power up the new cluster and do some testing with the CAN before installing.
I knew right away that the cluster buzzer had to go - it was "wake the dead" type of abrasive: (I know that I have left key in ignition without an unrelenting, deafening buzzer).
I opened the cluster & removed to buzzer from the circuit board - problem solved.
If I had more time, I would have blackened the chrome rings (like the European ones) - this will still happen but just not today.
A bit of a departure from my usual upgrades (most are performance oriented), but I feel this is a worthwhile upgrade.

Nice. I've been tempted to do this as the 2015 cluster is clearly more functional. Kind of attached to the look of the original though.

The TFT cluster is one of the reasons I insisted on a 2015. In hindsight I should have looked for a low mileage used 2013 but hey.... when you got the bug for a new car you have the bug.

I just did this install on my car, had the speedo laying around waiting for correct mileage.. did you test with the factory boost gauge at all? Mine won't come on in any byte 65 setting.

I love the Purity, Simplicity, and Nostalgia that soft glowing Amber invokes, especially at night. We have LCDs on our other Car & Truck and they are great, but there is something to be said with how Ambiance contributes unknowingly to the driving experience, especially in Sports Cars and especially at Dusk.

The photo you took is fantastic.

Thank you.
There was an issue that I needed to solve & that's what ultimately made me look at retrofit.
In the late afternoon sunlight, the needles (speedo / rpm) were invisible.
There was no way to toggle the dashlights without running the headlights.
I would have not been so bad (for me) if the largest font in the cluster represented speed & would be more visible, then relying on the needle wouldn't have been such an annoyance.
I am more concerned with speed than the time but that's just me.

@mr16valve could you post your hex code for the proxy alignment? I have the same configuration. Thank you!
