Need some brainstorming here...

Post by Danny01 » Thu Mar 28, 2019 3:48 pm

So I’m currently running EC Phase 2 and this morning I noticed boost dropped to 18PSI, and I hear it dumping. Went home hooked up my boost pressure tester, and around 18-20PSI I see the wastegate move and then I get this annoying whine as it moves. Keep in mind I’m running the oem actuator and I’ve had Phase 2 for about a year now... IMO I believe the actuator finally shit the bed.
What do you guys think?? :?

Anyone?? I found a hole in one of my FMIC pipes. Fixed that, but still having the same issue. Also replaced the wastegate solenoid...

Mine has never made noise when checking crack pressure. It's possible it has an internal leak which would make it harder to hold boost.

You mean internal as inside the turbo correct? I’m praying my wastegate flapper isn’t worn out...

I was referring to inside the actuator which is replaceable. However, the flapper could in theory leak as well.
