2014 Fiat 500L Lounge - Temperature Sensor Broken

Post by dapascale » Fri Aug 06, 2021 12:15 pm

Hi all!

My wife and I recently purchased a 2014 Fiat 500L Lounge and have already started experiencing this problem. We've had a hot summer, and those days when the reading is off and our car tells us there are 'Possibly Icy Roads' means we have been dying without AC.

We can't afford the $700+ quoted to us by the only Fiat service center nearby. Would anybody who has fixed the sensor on their own be willing to give me a tutorial of sorts? One written for a real simpleton? I have a soldering kit and all the tools I need, but my Fiat know-how is new and limited and I don't want to ruin anything. I'd also be open to a video tutorial or call if that is easier than typing out the explanation in detail.

Thanks you in advance!

+ Daniel

Hey Daniel. Do you happen to know which sensor the issue is with. I believe the 500L actually has two. One in the mirror and one in the front bumper (don’t know why)
2013 Abarth 500c (NGen Turbo'd) - Isabella
2012 500 Pop (broken, engine rebuild on hold) - Popabella
2014 500L (Daily workhorse) - The Hulk
2013 Abarth 500 (broken engine, current project) - Abby

Hi Texanbrit,

Did you find it to be correct that the 500L does, indeed, have two sensors?
