Re: Old Fiat Factory
That's a great old picture. The factory race track is still there today, and you can tour it, but not used for obvious reasons.

Re: Old Fiat Factory
Didn't Fiat build Tanks during WWII? Can you imagine how many Citizens Mussoulini starved out for Italy to back that structure. I'm joking, I really don't know how FIAT managed a structure on this scale, but I suspect it dwarfs what many other Euro brands (not named Mercedes or Volkswagon) had going at that time. Maybe rivaled what Detroit had, at least for the neatness factor

Re: Old Fiat Factory
The pyramids were built on the bones of untold slaves. Doesn't make them any less impressive.
Construction of the Fiat factory started in 1916 and finished in 1923, a bit before WWII. Mussolini didn't become prime minister until 1922.
The whole idea of feeding the materials in the ground floor and the finished cars coming out the top is still pretty cool to me.
