Just bought (07/14/2023) a 2014 500L for $500 USA Dollars. I buy up junk cars and got a call on this one owner says it is JUNK I don't argue and get it for the low price. The last Fiat I owned was way back in the 1970's and was an X19. Hope this one will treat me as good as the X19

I’m guessing it has the DDCT auto transmission with issues. Good luck!

Let us know if you have any questions. I've seen one of these that multiple dealers gave up on fixing repaired completely because a more inventive dealer was willing to do a non-officially recommended repair (soldering damaged joints in the BCM).

If the transmission clutches have gone, that's going to be a challenge to get right, I'm not sure if you can get the parts or not. And then you have to solve the reason it burned them - which surprisingly can be a bad temperature sensor due to a cracked solder joint in the BCM! Apparently if the TCM thinks it's cold outside, it tries to warm up the transmission in various ways and overheats it... stupid if you ask me but there it is.

Externally that looks in great shape. There is certainly way more than $500 just in parts.

So I'm assuming it's a DDCT automatic and someone gave up when the dealer told them it was $8k to fix it. When you dig in and find the issue let us know. Good luck!

The only other real issues I see on the 2014 are paint quality (they don't like strong sun) and interior issues. The rear antenna will leak water, the sun visors will droop and fall off and the roof liner usually gives up the ghost (again I don't think the glue handles heat well). I have a 2014 too and, touch wood, it's still going well at 106k miles. I'm in Texas so the sun has killed the paint and the interior :)
